Diet stress makes you eat more.
Updated: Nov 18, 2020
Dieting has a huge impact on stress levels.
Not only mentally, but physically too.
Dieting is restricting food.
It doesn't take into account the real cause of overeating.
It has you eating in a strange way your body isn’t used to.
Fueled by willpower and emotional effort.
Holding your feelings tight and punishing your body.
Feeling constricted, the body senses danger.
The fight/flight response activates and adrenaline is released.
Your body, in a state of stress. releases glucose (energy) to flee.
Insulin, a fat storage hormone is released when glucose is in the blood.
Cortisol's job is to suppress hunger, then to replenish stores.
Stress just makes you hungrier and you store fat.
Perpetuating the overeating, weight gain cycle.
Diets are simply not the solution.
