"Not enough?" Just not true.
Does your brain offer you thoughts that you’re not enough?
Or some version of it?
You’re not pretty enough.
You're not skinny enough, you’re too fat.
You're not smart and you talk too much.
You’re lazy and you should try more.
You need to rein it in!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is the crap you’ve been taught to believe,
and definitely not in a purposeful way.
Conditioned lies your brain has thought necessary,
measured from the moment you were born.
As a child, you had to do and say the right things,
You had to conform at school.
100% was what we needed to achieve.
As a woman we had to put others first.
Then you had to look a certain way to be loved.
Now you need millions of likes.
There is no way you could ever have got this all right,
but your brain never figured that out.
So your worthiness was pegged on perfection.
and that’s when you became ‘not enough’.
When you have the thought you’re ‘not enough’, it’s often followed by shame.
Shame is an emotion that never feels great,
you just want to run away and hide.
SO you try to achieve more to make ‘not enough’ shame go away,
But you’re forgetting the most important piece.
That actions can’t change the way your brain thinks. Shame will only back off when you change your thoughts about you.
Self acceptance to love and meet yourself as you are.
You are perfect and you’ve always been ‘enough’.
And no one can ever take this away.
The truth is there was nothing wrong with you to begin.
